Introducing the Fab 5…HUNDRED (updated)
If you go to our Discord server you’ll notice that the founders of SoonLabs are referred to as the Fab 5. We came up with the title as a joke, a way to refer to ourselves in a way without the seriousness of the founder title. But over time we realized that even that was having the unintended outcome of putting us on a pedestal and miscommunicating our actual intentions, which is to grow the community beyond the 5 contributing individuals/companies.
Let’s Start With Some History
The Soonaverse initially began when Adam Unchained (Development) who had been designing a voting mechanism for the IOTA Treasury developed a concept for an IOTA-based, feeless DAO-on-Demand. Gman (Sales and Partnerships) entered the process to help work closely with him to create the business concept and help organize area experts to add capabilities in key operational areas which included, Dave [EF] (DevOps and Project Management), TangleAccountant (Education and Finance) and Shonuff (Marketing and Communications). The entity known as SoonLabs began once the configuration of these 5 founding individuals was completed. Together this group worked diligently to evolve the early DoD concept and deliver the product you know as the Soonaverse.
After the launch of the Soonaverse MVP, we separated into individual companies and began the arduous task of scaling operations. The break-neck speed of new development, marketing, and operational efficiencies came from our decision to divide into separate companies, which play specific roles within the operation of the Soonaverse platform. This allowed the experts in their individual areas to work independently, while collaborating on projects which move the organization forward, serving the mission and vision of the organization. This was done by design, as operationally this is how DAOs are structured, decentralized, not a monolithic centralized body, the success of our model can be seen every day in new features, programs, and campaigns being delivered at speeds unmatched in the IOTA community.
What Each Company Does
This section has been updated to reflect the functioning teams from the “FAB 5” that currently contributes to the operation of the Soonaverse. Gman was removed as he is no longer a contributing participant or affiliated with SoonLabs or its operations.
Unchained Tech (unchained.work) is led by Adam Unchained. Through his team, the entire Soonaverse was built, managed, and maintained. They are the heart of the Soonaverse and have been the ultimate voice in the technical design of the platform and its current evolution to open source. Unchained Tech created and made real the architectural strategy that has made the Soonaverse the most performant product operating on IOTA today.
Dave [EF] manages DevOps for the Soonaverse, partnering with Unchained Tech to make certain that the Soonaverse operates smoothly each day. He also manages and oversees community support for the platform, leading initiatives via the Discord community, managing projects of all kinds to establish the high quality operational efficiency that users have become reliant on. He is the creator of important data analytics features and continues his personal mission to make the Soonaverse the most dependable, open platform in crypto.
Reengineered Finance LLC is owned by TangleAccountant who is the thought leader in the Soonaverse, overseeing everything from tokenomics, education, legal, documentation, and of course finance. Many of the earliest revolutionary features added to the early DoD platform to create the Soonaverse were designed by TangleAccountant. He continues to play a critical leadership role in an ever expanding set of areas which keep the Soonaverse at the very edge of innovation and technological leadership.
Shonuff Marketing has driven all things brand, marketing, communication, and social from day one. They are the creators of the SoonLabs and Soonaverse brands, led promotional programs such as the NFT Marketplace roll out and the NF3 product line and sale. They serve as the “voice” of the organization and platform, and through their roster of artists, designers, and creative professionals have created the signature “look”, which have helped make the Soonaverse, one of IOTA’s most prolific and influential product brands.
Our History In The Making
The goal of SoonLabs is to create a platform ecosystem that supports hundreds of contributing companies. Our survival as a platform is contingent on our ability to grow beyond the structures that led to our creation and early successes. We’re here to scale…explosively. Explaining our history isn’t an attempt to pay homage to it. In fact, we’re trying to free ourselves from it, because our REAL history, the one that truly matters, has yet to happen. It’s in the next 12 months, where we grow from the Fab 5 to the Fab 500 or even better the Fab 5000 that we will define who and what the Soonaverse will be.
As new Soonaverse modules are created and deployed over the next few weeks, this vision will become clearer and clearer for everyone. We would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to view these developments as opportunities to visualize and create their own modules, their own services to plug into the Soonaverse platform.
